To receive the impact rating, the safe had to remain shut and not explode through 30 minutes to exposure to a 2000F fire and immediate 30 foot drop test and reheating for 45 minutes to 1638F. The safe also met all other requirements for the Fire Endurance Test, Explosion Hazard Test, Humidity Test, and Fire and Impact Test.

The Underwriters Laboratory (UL) has given the MediaVault a Class 125 one hour rating. This means the interior temperature of the MediaVault will stay below 125 degrees F when outside temperatures are below 1700 F for one our or less. This is the only small media safe that meets this criteria.
